Express Entry Program

Express Entry Program

Express Entry (EE) Program is a Federal application management system, which is used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to manage and process immigration applications received through Canada’s economic immigration programs for skilled workers category. Skilled Workers are those foreign nationals who are selected for Canadian Permanent Residence on the basis of their skills. There are three application streams in federal economic class, which are currently managed by Express Entry Program. These streams are:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class

In addition to the above three streams, EE program is also working as a main channel for managing the immigrant selection process by many provincial Nominee Program (PNP) as well.

FSW (Federal Skilled Worker)

This program is for skilled workers with foreign work experience who want to immigrate to Canada permanently. The work experience must be earned while working on managerial jobs (skill level 0) or professional jobs (skill type A) or technical jobs and skilled trades (skill type B) only as per National Occupational Classification (NOC). If a candidate meets all the minimum requirements, and earns 67 point on a 100-point grid, then IRCC assess their application based on their skills in terms of:

  • Age
  • Education
  • Work experience
  • Whether you have a valid job offer
  • English and/or French language skills
  • Adaptability (how well an applicant can settle in Canada)

FST (Federal Skilled Trades)

The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents based on their qualifications in a skilled trade. In addition, the candidates must have 2 years of full time or an equivalent amount of part time experience in their designated skilled trade within the previous 5 years before they apply. The work experience must be earned while working on technical jobs and skilled trades (skill type B) only as per National Occupational Classification (NOC). Along with that, the applicants must have either 1 year long full-time valid job offer, or they must have a certificate of qualifications obtained in their skilled trade from respective provincial authority.

CEC (Canadian Experience Class)

Canadian Experience Class category is a program to become permanent residents for those applicants, who are already in Canada and have worked legally for at least 1 year, as skilled workers. Their work experience must be gained within the previous 3 years before the application submission. Also, the work experience must be earned while working on managerial jobs (skill level 0) or professional jobs (skill type A) or technical jobs and skilled trades (skill type B) only.

Visa Foundations is fully capable of leading a successful application in all three federal and provincial EE streams.
