Provincial Nomination Program (PNP)

Provincial Nomination Program (PNP)

All Provinces and territories in Canada have agreements with the Federal Government which gives them authority to select foreign nationals for permanent residence in those provinces and territories. All provinces run their own immigration programs and those programs are independent of programs of other provinces and most federal programs in terms of preference of occupation, age, work experience, adaptability and other selection criteria. Thus, there are always significant chances that a candidate who is ineligible in some federal or provincial programs, may fit in a specific provincial program.

All PNPs work in the environment of economic demand, i.e. provinces select and nominate only those foreign nationals whose occupations are in demand in those provinces. Eligible candidates are evaluated on the basis of their skills such as education, age, experience, proficiency in language and adaptability in that specific province. Most of the PNP programs are job oriented, thus the applicants need to have a job offer from an employer in that province, but some provinces offer a good weightage to the living relatives in that province as well. Besides that, some PNPs are aligned with the federal Express Entry Program as well, where provinces, as per their economic demand, may select foreign nationals from the Federal Express Entry pool.

Our experts have extensive knowledge of the operation of various PNPs. Please contact us to evaluate your profile to check the possibility of immigration to Canada through a specific provincial program.
